Nepal+Ball | Boulder

Nepal+Ball | Boulder

25 Aug 2012 | 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

You are invited to attend Nyaya Health’s inaugural Nepal + Ball | Boulder on August 25th, to celebrate a night of proving what is possible in delivering health care in Nepal’s poorest region.

Nyaya Health is non-profit organization, started by a group of Yale alumni, that operates a hospital and provides health care in Achham, a large district in Far-Western Nepal. Achham is one of the poorest regions in South Asia, and shoulders some of the world’s highest mortality rates, particularly among women. Nyaya Health (nyaya means “justice in action” in Nepali) was started by a group of Yale students 6 years ago. Nyaya’s work began when Jason Andrews, M.D. ’07, traveled to the Achham region and learned about the dearth of healthcare in the region, and the injustices faced daily by Achhami citizens. Over the last six years, Nyaya’s work has grown immensely, and the team continues to have many Yale affiliates in its ranks, as well as many mentors from the Yale community. In January 2012, Yale Medicine had a feature article on Nyaya Health.

Nyaya Health would like to reach out to extend the invitation to the members of the Colorado Yale Association. You can view the invitation and buy tickets here. Tickets are $25 online and $40 at the door.

The event will be held at the foothills home of Cindy Lindsay and Steve Sheafor, 1133 Timber Lane, Boulder. Please join us on August 25th in Boulder to celebrate our progress and support our future endeavors in the movement toward global health equity.

There are several Yale alumni connected to Nyaya Health.
